Under the section 22 of the University act
11. (1) There shall be a General Council of the University which shall consist of the following members namely –
I – Ex officio Members
(i) the chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh
(ii) the minister-in-charge of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
(iii) the minister-in-charge of Finance, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
(iv) the Vice- chancellor of the University.
(v) the Principal Secretary/ Secretary of Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
(vi) the Principal Secretary/ Secretary of Finance Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
(vii) the commissioner, Higher Education, Madhya Pradesh.
II – Nominated Members
(viii) six representatives of Sanskrit Teacher / Acharya from Sanskrit Colleges, and Universities of Madhya Pradesh, who are able to take part in the discussion or debate in Sanskrit.
(2) The members under clause (viii) shall be nominated by the State Government.
