The directorate of AYUSH, Government of Madhya Pradesh (MP-AYUSH) with operations spread across the length and breadth of state of Madhya Pradesh and with key objective of main streaming of AYUSH health care delivery, provides its services to more than one hundred and twenty lac patients per year in the state of Madhya Pradesh, and offers its services in the main areas of health care delivery, AYUSH drugs supply, scheme management, administration and education as well as covering the whole gamut of functions/activities related to AYUSH.
- To deal with policy matters relating to AYUSH systems
- To deal with HR matters, e.g., appointments, postings, etc.
- To deal with matters on AYUSH Drugs and Drug Standards
- To regulate admissions in all AYUSH education institutions
- To implement State Schemes – provide AYUSH Services, AYUSH Health Care, manage Government AYUSH education institutions
- To implement CSS :- NAM
- Enhance coverage of health care system through cost-effective AYUSH Services, focusing on core competency areas of AYUSH through upgrading AYUSH Hospitals and Dispensaries;
- Co-location of AYUSH facilities at PHCs, CHCs, District Hospitals;
- Setting up of 50-bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospitals;
- Promote AYUSH systems for holistic healthcare;
- Establish AYUSH at all levels in health care system;
- Focus on preventive and curative health care through AYUSH.
Logo
The logo of the university expresses Indian thinking, sublime thoughts, good intentions and divine values. The elevated Kalash of the Mahakaleshwar temple with the aura of the sun and the flag indicates progress, enthusiasm, vigor and knowledge. The Lotus symbolizes prosperity, purity, beauty and fragrance. The Padma Patra (Lotus Leaf) is revealing the philosophical aspect of selfless Karmayoga. The swan couple (Hansdvaya ) is the symbol of knowledge, science, appreciation of qualities and wisdom. While the clear flowing water indicates the traditional scriptural knowledge and eternal circle of life.
Motto “Sanskrita nama devi vak”
The central motto of the university is taken from Mahakavi Dandi’s Kavyadarsha (33) who opines that Sanskrit is the language of Gods and inculcating it in daily life helps us to achieve divine qualities.

विश्वविद्यालय परिचय
उज्जैन के सांस्कृतिक और पौराणिक महत्व को ध्यान में रखते हुए राज्य शासन ने संस्कृत भाषा और प्राचीन ज्ञान विज्ञान के अभिवर्धन एवं प्रसार हेतु उज्जैन में संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय स्थापित करने का निर्णय लिया। महर्षि पाणिनि संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय अधिनियम 2006 क्रमांक 15 सन् 2008 के तहत 15 अगस्त 2008 से महर्षि पाणिनि संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय उज्जैन की स्थापना की गई.
